How sites are checked

  • The home page is loaded every 15 minutes from Cloudflare's network, separately from syncs
  • A page that answers with an error, or does not answer within 15 seconds, is tried once more before the site counts as down
  • Response time is how long the site took to start answering
  • Check now runs a check at any time, and you can turn uptime checks off for individual sites

History

  • A chart of every check's response time over the last 24 hours
  • A bar for each of the last 30 days, green with no downtime, amber with some and red with more than an hour
  • A list of outages with when each started, how long it lasted and the error

SSL certificates

  • Read once a day: the expiry date, issuer and the addresses it covers
  • A warning when it expires within 14 days, has expired, or is for a different address
  • Read from the server itself when it allows it, otherwise from the public Certificate Transparency logs, which works for sites behind Cloudflare too

Across the dashboard

  • The site's Overview has an Uptime card with its status and 30 day uptime
  • The Sites list marks any site that is down
  • A site that is down counts as needing attention on the main Overview
